Driven Publishing and its operators or associates do not and will not release any personal information belonging to clients or belonging to website visitors to any third party organization without acknowledgement and consent from the client or website visitor.

Personal data collected by Driven Publishing and its operators or associates is strictly intended for the production of products and services requested by the client and for the delivery of products and services to the client.

Clients may at any time request a copy of personal data currently being used by Driven Publishing for the production and delivery of products and services. Driven Publishing's Buy Local + Support Local Policy

It is a belief and a core-value at Driven Publishing that local businesses should be supported before the labor is acquired from a non-local business or service provider.

However, although it is a policy, it is not unconditional – If one of the following criteria is not met, the service being acquired by Driven Publishing will be purchased outside of Local, Provincial and Federal boundaries, respectably:

  • The level of craftsmanship is below top-industry standards,
  • The QPR (Quality-Price-Ratio) does not match the expected quality of the product,
  • The absence of shared core-values.

These core-values are reflected in Driven Publishing's Discount Terms listed HERE. The listed discounts reflect the core-values at Driven Publishing. e.g. – Greater the discount on your hourly-rate, the closer we are towards sharing core-values.




Driven Publishing's Entitlement Policy

It is Driven Publishing's goal to equally offer the highest possible level quality of service to all clients. Whether new clients or existing clients, private clients, or high-profile clients – Driven Publishing aims to deliver products and services by adhering to principles of fairness. Fulfilling Sense of entitlements is currently not a product or service offered by Driven Publishing.





Terms of Service (TOS)

Driven Publishing's TOS

It is the mandate of Driven Publishing to establish a work environment that is transparent for both clients and associates. Driven Publishing has prepared the following terms of service and policies while keeping in mind the best interest of its customers, its associates and of Driven Publishing.

Discounts

There are several ways to take advantage of savings when working with Driven Publishing. Existing clients are encouraged to carefully review the following list of Discount Types to learn about discount conditions and eligibility.

Discount Type: Promotional Exchange
Description: Product and services provided by Driven Publishing are to display the Driven Publishing logo or text linking to Driven Publishing. In the case of printed material, contain basic contact information such as Driven Publishing telephone number, email address, web address or whatever material is appropriate. The logo, text or link must appear on the final product.
Criteria: The Driven Publishing logo and other pertaining information must be clearly visible. If the Driven Publishing logo and other pertaining information are included on the product or services by someone other than an authorized Driven Publishing personnel or associate, a proof of the final product will need to be provided to Driven Publishing for approval prior to discount eligibility. The logo and pertaining information must remain included with the product and service during the entire lifetime of the product and service provided by Driven Publishing.
Discount Amount: 10% to 30% - Depending on the size of the Driven Publishing logo and pertaining information included in the final product.

Discount Type: Loyalty Program
Description: To reward clients for making Driven Publishing the first choice for website maintenance duties. Applies to companies or organizations with the need for regular updates and maintenance to their website.
Criteria: The client must make arrangements with Driven Publishing for specific maintenance duties to a website or ongoing project. These arrangements can be tailored to the needs of the client.
Discount Amount: 10% to 30% - Depending on the nature of the maintenance tasks.

Discount Type: First Time Customers
Description: To help offset the start-up cost of a website of a new printed item, Driven Publishing offers you a First Time Customer's discount.
Criteria: You or your organization must not of have previously dealt with Driven Publishing or have acquired products and services from Driven Publishing.
Discount Amount: 15%
Discount Code: FTC-015

Discount Type: Registered Non-Profit Organizations
Description: Not for profit organizations can take advantage of this discount.
Criteria: The organization acquiring and/or receiving products and services from Driven Publishing must be a registered non-profit organization.
Discount Amount: 15%

Discount Type: Essential Services
Description: A few selected services are recognized by Driven Publishing as being essential services, Driven Publishing will offer a discount to organizations answering to the discount criteria.
Criteria: The organization acquiring and/or receiving products and services from Driven Publishing must be recognized as one of the following; police and law enforcement agency (does not applied to private security firms), health professional (hospitals, clinics, long term and short term care giver, ambulance services), fire department (does not apply to private inspection companies), wildlife agency and agriculture (does not apply to farms receiving more than 51% of their income from the tourism industry), public transportation (transit systems, taxi companies and shuttle services), food (includes agricultural farmers, farmer's market groups and food supply retailers) and religious groups (committees and establishments catering to the spiritual needs of the community).

Discount Type: Francophone Community of Nova Scotia
Description: Purpose of encouraging the Francophone entrepreneurs of Nova Scotia to offer services in French and offset the cost of operating in both official languages.
Criteria: The organization acquiring and/or receiving products and services from Driven Publishing must conduct at least 51% of its operations in French. This discount also applies to bilingual projects not consisting of French or English as a secondary language.

Discount Type: Female Entrepreneurs
Description: In an effort to offset gender inequality in the workplace, Driven Publishing chooses to encourage Female Entrepreneurs.
Criteria: The client and/or the owner of the company or organization acquiring and/or receiving products and services from Driven Publishing must be of female gender. If the organization acquiring or receiving services from Driven Publishing is governed by a board of directors, 51% of the board members must be of female gender. This discount also applies to members of LGBT community.

Discount Type: Arts and Culture
Description: To encourage the growth of art and culture in your community, Driven Publishing chooses to promote and support the arts and culture by providing a discount targeting organizations catering to the arts and cultural needs of their communities.
Criteria: The organization acquiring and/or receiving products and services from Driven Publishing must primarily cater to the arts and cultural needs of the community. They must be recognized as art galleries, theatre and dance groups, sports groups and establishments, band camps, orchestras or other musical groups. This discount does not apply to organizations catering primarily to the tourism industry.
Discount Amount: 15%

Driven Publishing will screen your organization for eligibility of the listed discount type when preparing an estimate or before starting on approved projects by asking a few questions. If you believe your organization was improperly screened for available discounts, please contact Driven Publishing, at that time you may be asked to provide documentation to support the discount. Driven Publishing reserves the right turn down discounts without notice. Discount types are not retroactive and may not be applied to previously completed work orders.

Deducting discount amounts from your project total

The sum of the discount amount will not be subtracted from your statement amount as a percentage total. If you or your organization is eligible for multiple discounts, the discounts will be calculated as follow:

Example: If the final statement amount totals $300.00 (amount derived from hourly rate) and you are eligible and have been approved for 40%, 25% and 10% discounts, the final total of your statement will be $121.50.

Where the calculation is performed as such:

- 40% (Starting with the largest discount amount.)
= $180.00

$180.00
- 25% (Then with the next largest amount.)
= $135.00

$135.00
- 10% (And ending with the smallest discount amount.)
= $121.50

Subtracting multiple discount amounts from a total will always begin with the largest discount percentage and then end with the smallest discount percentage amount by gradually working down to the smallest discount amount. The discounts will not be added prior to being applied to the total. In the given example, the total of the discount percentages (75%) would never be subtracted from the total to give the client a statement total of $75.00 (300 - 75% = $75).

Discount Notice

Driven Publishing discounts do not apply to hosting services, domain names registrations or renewal and/or third party services such as printing services, courier services or other.




Service Prerequisites

Certain services offered by Driven Publishing require basic knowledge of information technology and it's fundamentals. For example, when a client request website design and website development services, the client should possess sufficient knowledge about information technology to be capable of making use of computer applications to navigate websites such as internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and others).

The client should also possess sufficient knowledge about information technology to be able to make usage of computer applications such as email clients (Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Eudora, Gmail, Hotmail and others).

If the client does not possess the prerequisites for website design and website development services, it is recommended an authorized person within the organization whom possesses sufficient knowledge with internet browsers and email clients be made primary or secondary contact person when opening an account with Driven Publishing.




Refunds and Returns

All sales transactions between Driven Publishing, its operators or associates and the client are final. There are rare circumstances where a refund or return may be processed. To appeal or contest a refunds and returns decision, please contact Driven Publishing to present your case, then once received, the appeal will be evaluated and you will receive a final verdict within 3 to 5 business days.




Pricing and Project Estimates

All cost estimates are provided in Canadian funds and do not include sales tax unless stated otherwise. All project estimates are based on information and data available at the time it is composed. The details and information contained within the project estimate are subject to change without notice.




Technical Support

Driven Publishing and its operators or associates do not offer technical support for third party products. Any support provided to clients through Driven Publishing for third party products is done out of courtesy. These third party products may consist of computer hardware, computer software and web application such as internet browsers, email clients, web authoring tools, word processing programs, ftp programs, CMS (Content Management System) such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and others as well as graphic and photo editing tools, computers and monitors, printers, routers, disc drives and any other hardware and software products not directly tied to services being received from Driven Publishing.




Extended Support

Extended support is available upon request to cover tasks such routine system maintenance or regular updates to your website. To inquire about extended support, please contact Driven Publishing for an estimate.




Accountability - Third Party Products

Driven Publishing and its operators or associates do not warrant third party services and products. These third party services and products may include; pre-press printing, couriers, internet service providers, website builder tools and other third party services and products. Driven Publishing and its operators or associates will not be held accountable for damages or loss of revenue caused by third party products and services.X




Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Driven Publishing and its operators or associates do not warrant search results or rankings of client website with search engines.




Customer Service Policy

Whenever possible, the personnel of Driven Publishing, its operators and associates will keep all clients updated on policy changes that could have an impact on products and services offered by Driven Publishing.

Please ensure that your organization's contact information is up-to-date.

If your organization's contact information has recently changed; telephone numbers, email addresses, civic addresses or other, please contact Driven Publishing to with the updated information.

Driven Publishing Mandate

In the delivery of products and services offered by Driven Publishing.

  • Provide clients with design and development solutions that are functional, adaptable and sustainable.
  • Promote client loyalty by providing a level of customer service that is professional, insightful and courteous.
  • Establish a work environment that is transparent for both clients and associates.
  • Educate clients about industry trends and keep up-to-date with technological advancement that can in turn benefit clients and associates.
  • Study and gather knowledge on the industry of each client and obtain a solid understanding of each client's goal with the products and services they receive from Driven Publishing.
  • Deliver products and services in a time sensitive manner in respect to client expectations.
  • Driven Publishing and its associates shall honour client confidentiality at all times.




Termination of Service

Driven Publishing and its operators or associates reserve the right to terminate services and stop delivery of products and services at any time without given notice.




Receivables - Payments

Prior to the delivery of the completed project, a payment totalling the remaining unpaid amount of the total project cost is required. Upon receipt of the final payment in full of the remaining amount, the product will be delivered to the destination outlined in the project estimate; FTP to website, delivery to print shop or other method.

If the payment cannot be made in full upon project completion, alternative payment arrangements must be made before the design and development stages begin. Driven Publishing and its operators or associates reserve the right to withhold the delivery of products and services until the payment in full has been received and processed.




Receivables - Overdue Accounts

All invoices generated by Driven Publishing are due upon receipt. Invoices are Net 30 days – that is 30 days following the posted date. Overdue payments are subject to a 60% per annum interest charge plus a monthly $25 administrative fee for every month the payment is not received in full.




Cheques Returned and Marked Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF)

Clients will be charged an administration and handling fee of thirty five dollars ($35.00) for all cheques written to René J. Babin (Driven Publishing) returned and marked Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF).




Deposits

Before proceeding with the design and development stages of the client's project, a non-refundable deposit totalling 25% of the project estimate's cost is required. The 25% deposit amount does not take into account the cost of third party products and services which may consist of; web hosting, courier services or any other products and services not directly provided by Driven Publishing.

All cost derived from third party products and services will need to be included in full with the deposit. The preliminary details of the deposit amount will be included in project estimate and any new charges resulting from third party products and services will be addressed in time and lieu.




Domain Names

Unless an agreement has been stated, the renewal of domain names are the responsibility of the website owners and operators.

Domain names are subject to availability. Driven Publishing and its operators or associates do not warrant the availability of domain names. Driven Publishing and its operators or associates will not be held responsible for the loss of ownership of domain names.




Website Hosting

Driven Publishing and its operators or associates will not be held responsible for the loss of data such as; web site files and images, databases, passwords, emails, email attachments or loss of any other form of digital information and media. Driven Publishing and its operators or associates will not be held responsible for loss of revenue or profit resulting from slow website connections, loss of connections or server downtimes.




Product Delivery

Driven Publishing and its operators or associates do not warrant third party delivery services and products. These third party delivery services and products may include; couriers, internet service providers, email service providers, or any other method of delivery. Driven Publishing and its operators or associates will not be held accountable for damages or loss of revenue caused by third party delivery products and services.




Design Proofs and Revisions

Project estimates provided by Driven Publishing takes into consideration the revision of design proofs. The total amount of design revisions included in the project estimate's cost are numbered at 2 (two). When reviewing a design proof, it is important that you provide in detail the requested changes to ensure that the least amount of time possible is spent revising designs.

Driven Publishing and its operators or associates reserve the right to limit the amount of revisions to 2 (two) before adding extra charges to the cost of the project.




Driven Publishing Content Credentials

All material appearing on Driven Publishing are represented as accurately and as loyal to their sources as possible. If you have any questions or concerns in regards to the credentials or accuracy of the material contained on the Driven Publishing website, please send your Comments or Feedback so that the matter may be evaluated.

Driven Publishing and its operators reserve the right to modify, update or edit the listed Terms and Conditions and Policies without given notice. However, as part of the Customer Service Policy, it is the commitment of Driven Publishing and its operators to keep clients informed at all times on policy changes that could have an impact on products and services offered by Driven Publishing.
